Hold the Boundary: Protect and Preserve the BWCA Poster Show by ArtYouHeart

Hold the Boundary is an ArtYouHeart poster exhibition and print collection bringing together 50 poster artists responding to the beauty, significance, and uncertain future of the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness and Superior National Forest.
Through art, the project celebrates this extraordinary freshwater landscape while calling attention to the threat that proposed copper mining poses to its interconnected waters, forests, wildlife, and communities.

Hold the Boundary opens Tuesday, August 25 at Can Can Wonderland in St. Paul with an evening of art, conversation, music, food, drinks, and community. The opening takes place during the week of World Lake Day, observed August 27, connecting this Minnesota landscape to a broader celebration of lakes and freshwater systems around the world.

On opening night Tuesday, August 25, doors will be at 4pm and programming begins at 6pm to meet the artists, 7pm for a panel discussion about what's at stake for the BWCA, and to wrap the evening up enjoy the art, ambience, and a fun themed drink from the bar.

The exhibition will remain on view at Can Can Wonderland through September 19.

A limited number of posters will be available for purchase during the August 25 opening event, and the full print collection will be available in the ArtYouHeart online store thereafter. 

Proceeds from the print collection support Friends of the Boundary Waters Wilderness, Save the Boundary Waters, and Honor the Earth, organizations working in complementary ways to protect the Boundary Waters through wilderness conservation, advocacy against copper sulfide mining, and Indigenous led environmental and cultural protection.
