Request for Proposals: Three Rooms
Can Can Wonderland strives to be an economic engine for the arts. We are proud to be the first arts-based public benefit corporation in Minnesota and take any chance we get to work with and support local artists.
Can Can Wonderland is requesting the submissions of ideas and drawings for the following:
A set of 3 rooms that function independently but also can be combined as one large room. The single rooms needs their own individuality and name, yet when the three are united, should read as a cohesive whole. Each room consists of sheetrock walls with a barn door sliding off a center concrete column. The first two rooms will only have 2 sheet rock walls, the block wall facing the hall and then there will be some type of accordion door or dividing wall that opens up between the other rooms. Dimensions are 12 ft deep, 23 ft long, and ceilings are roughly 13 ft.
The function of the room is everything from raucous 8-year-old birthday parties to a daylong corporate retreat. Walls should not have protrusions more than 4 inches. Consider the possibility of other artworks, chalkboards, dry erase boards, games, and ceiling mounted projector screens, etc. Each room will hold up to 3 tables and 30 chairs.
Storage ideas are always a plus. Consider possibilities such as Shaker style hanging for the tables, cable systems in the ceiling for chair storage. We are open to different materials (carpet, wallpaper, 3-D effects, mosaics, murals, etc) and to all ideas.
Criteria are playfulness, beauty (beauty is in the eye of the beholder), price, safety, durability, and practicality for cleaning.
Projects up to $10,000 will be considered
Proposals are due June 21, 2018
